Research on the application effect of evidence based detail nursing combined with facial muscle training in patients with facial neuritis

Abstract

Objective To investigate the application of detailed nursing care based on evidence-based concepts combined with facial muscle training in patients with facial neuritis. Methods Eighty patients with facial neuritis who visited the Department of Neurology in our hospital from January 2023 to June 2024 were selected as study subjects. They were divided into two groups of 40 patients each using the envelope method. The control group received conventional nursing interventions, while the observation group received facial muscle training combined with detailed nursing interventions based on evidence-based concepts in addition to the conventional interventions. The intervention effects of the two groups were compared. Results After 2 weeks of intervention, the Facial Nerve Function Assessment Rating Scale (House-Brackmann) scores in the observation group were better than those in the control group (P<0.05). The Facial Disability Index (FDI) scores in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group after 2 weeks of intervention (P<0.05). Additionally, the Hamilton anxity rating scale (HAMA) and Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD) scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group after 2 weeks of intervention (P<0.05). Furthermore, nursing satisfaction in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group after 2 weeks of intervention (P<0.05). Conclusion Detailed care based on evidence-based concepts combined with facial muscle training can effectively promote the recovery of facial nerve function and reduce pain in patients with facial neuritis. This combination has a positive impact on eliminating patients’ negative psychological emotions, improving nursing satisfaction, and enhancing quality of life.
