Application of the Internet Plus Nursing Service Mode in Photodynamic Therapy for Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders

Application of the Internet Plus Nursing Service Mode in Photodynamic Therapy for Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders

Abstract

Objective To analyze the application effect of the Internet Plus Nursing Service mode in photodynamic therapy for oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMD). Methods Totally 126 patients with OPMD who underwent photodynamic therapy in the Wuhan University Stomatological Hospital from January 2023 to March 2024 were selected. According to the random number table, they were divided into the control group (n=63) and the intervention group (n=63). The former was given routine care, and the latter was given the Internet Plus Nursing Service mode of intervention on above basis. The two groups were compared in terms of the effective rate of photodynamic therapy, psychological resilience level [Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC)], the incidence of adverse reactions, quality of life [Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14)], and satisfaction. Results The total effective rate of photodynamic therapy in the intervention group (87.30%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (71.43%). After intervention, CD-RISC score in each dimension and total scores of both groups increased, and the intervention group had higher score. The overall incidence of adverse reactions to photodynamic therapy in the intervention group (3.17%) was lower than that in the control group (12.70%). After intervention, total OHIP-14 scores of both groups decreased, and the intervention group had a lower score. Nursing satisfaction rate in the intervention group (98.41%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (88.89%). Conclusion Applying the Internet Plus Nursing Service mode in photodynamic therapy for patients with OPMD can enhance therapeutic effects and psychological resilience, and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, thereby improving the quality of life and nursing satisfaction.
