Abstract

Objective To explore the current situation and correlation between frailty and nutritional status of hospitalized comorbidities in elderly patients. Methods A total of 200 hospitalized elderly patients with comorbidities participated in the survey. According to the FARIL frailty assessment scale, hospitalized elderly patients with comorbidities were divided into non frailty group, pre frailty group, and obvious frailty group. Nutritional risk screening was used to evaluate the nutritional status of hospitalized elderly patients with comorbidities, and the correlation between frailty and nutritional status was statistically analyzed. Results There were frailty score is significantly negatively correlated with educational level and per capita monthly income of households, but significantly positively correlated with age, comorbidity index, and nutritional risk. Nutritional indicators such as PA, TP, ALB, Hb, 25 hydroxyvitamin D, IgA, IgG, IgM, complement C3, complement C4 are significantly negatively correlated with frailty scores. Of particular note, there is the most significant correlation between frailty and nutritional risk in hospitalized comorbid elderly patients (OR=1.047, 95%CI: 1.241-4.914, P<0.01). Conclusion The treatment Malnutrition and frailty in hospitalized comorbid elderly patients are closely related, and personalized nutritional intervention strategies can improve nutritional status and reduce the risk of frailty.
