Application and Complications of Artificial Dermis Transplantation Combined with Autologous Blade Thick Skin Graft in the Repair of Large Area Soft Tissue Defects

Abstract

Objective To explore the application and complications of artificial dermis transplantation combined with autologous blade thick skin graft in the repair of large soft tissue defects. Methods 86 patients with large-area soft tissue defects admitted from May 2020 to December 2023 were selected. Using stratified randomization grouping method, they were randomly divided into an observation group (43 cases) and a control group (43 cases). The control group was treated with autologous split-thickness skin transplantation, and the observation group was treated with artificial dermis transplantation combined on the basis of the control group. The survival rate, healing time, scar degree [Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS)] and postoperative complications of the two groups were observed. Results The survival rate of patients with large-area soft tissue defects in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group one week after surgery; the healing time of the donor site in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the healing time of the recipient site was higher than that in the control group; at 6 months after surgery, the VSS scores of the donor and recipient sites of patients with large-area soft tissue defects in the observation group and the control group were both reduced, and the VSS score of the donor site in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the VSS score of the recipient site was higher than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences; at one week after surgery, there was no statistically significant difference in the VSS scores of the donor and recipient sites between the observation group and the control group, and there was no significant difference in the occurrence of postoperative complications between the two groups. Conclusion Artificial dermis transplantation combined with autologous split-thickness skin transplantation can improve the repair success rate of patients with large-area soft tissue defects, promote the healing of donor site wounds, and the degree of scar after healing is light and the safety is high.
