自我同情在中青年2型糖尿病患者社会支持与糖尿病痛苦间的中介作用

Abstract Objective To explore the mediating effect of self-compassion between social support and diabetes distress in young and middle-aged patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods A total of 225 young and middle-aged patients with type 2 diabetes from the endocrinology wards of 3 comprehensive tertiary hospitals in Hunan were recruited by convenience sampling. The questionnaires include Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS), Self-Compassion Scale (SCS), and Diabetes Distress Scale (DDS). SPSS25.0 and Process macro programs were used for statistical analysis. Results The scores of social support, self-compassion, and diabetes distress in young and middle-aged type 2 diabetes patients were (38.99±5.63), (72.95±8.49), and (36.28±7.39) respectively. Social support was negatively correlated with diabetes distress (r=-0.619, P<0.01) but positively correlated with self-compassion (r=0.577, P<0.01); self-compassion was negatively correlated with diabetes distress (r=-0.591, P<0.01). Self-compassion was the mediating variable of social support and diabetes distress, and the mediating effect accounted for 32.63% of the total effect. Conclusion Diabetes distress in young and middle-aged patients with type 2 diabetes was in the middle. Self-compassion is an intermediate variable between social support and diabetes distress in young and middle-aged patients with type 2 diabetes. Healthcare professionals should attempt to construct social support-based self-compassion intervention programs young and middle-aged patients with type 2 diabetes, so as to improve their level of self-compassion and thereby reduce their diabetes distress.
