Analysis of the Status of Health Literacy of Respiratory Infectious Disease Prevention and Control among Residents in Xiangxi and Its Influencing Factors

Abstract：Objective To analyze the status of health literacy of respiratory infectious disease prevention and control among residents in Xiangxi and its influencing factor, and provide a basis data for intervention. Method Using a stratified random sampling method, a total of 552 permanent residents aged 18-60 from four community survey sites in Xiangxi were surveyed from July to September 2022. The survey was conducted using a general information questionnaire and a respiratory infectious disease prevention and control literacy questionnaire. Results The level of respiratory infectious disease prevention and control literacy of community residents in Xiangxi was 14.72%. Among them, the dimension of infectious source is 25.66%, the dimension of transmission route is 40.57%, the dimension of susceptible population is 43.02%, and the dimension of prevention and treatment methods is 10.75%. Logistic regression analysis showed that level of education, time on the Internet, be aware of respiratory infections, and whether smoke or not were influencing factor. Conclusion The level of respiratory infectious disease prevention and control literacy of community residents in Xiangxi needs to be improved. It is suggested to take low degree, people who don't use the Internet, non-smoker as the key groups to carry out targeted education on health literacy of respiratory infectious disease prevention and control, like make full use of the Internet and other new media technologies.
