Clinical effect of Pingchuan Guben decoction combined with Ai-Chi in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with deficiency of lung and kidney qi and influence of cardiopulmonary function |

Abstract Objective To observe clinical effect of pingchuan guben decoction combined with Ai-Chi in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with deficiency of lung and kidney qi . Methods 80 cases were divided into experimental group and control group, 40 cases in each group. Both groups were given routine drug therapy, nursing measures, guided functional exercise and health education. The control group received Ai-Chi training , and the experimental group received Ping Chuan Guben decoction in addition to the basic treatment of the control group. They were assessed before treatment, at 8 weeks, and 3 months after the end of treatment. Pulmonary function test, main indexes of cardiopulmonary exercise test, scores of St. George Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease Quality of Life Scale (CAT) were recorded. Results Compared with before treatment, FEV1%pred, FEV1, FEV1/FVC, FEV1/VC, AT%pred, VO2max, VO2max/kg, METs, peak RER, Wmax and other indexes in 2 groups were improved for 8 weeks and 3 months after treatment. Compared with the control group after 8 weeks of treatment and 3 months after the end of treatment, the above indexes in the experimental group were significantly improved, and the difference was statistically significant. In this study, there were no adverse events during clinical treatment. Conclusion Pingchuan guben decoction combined with Ai-Chi can improve cardiopulmonary function, exercise endurance, relieve clinical symptoms and improve quality of life in stable COPD patients.
