The relationship between the expression of T cells in peripheral blood and pulmonary function and quality of life in patients with silicosis |

Abstract Objective To investigate the relationship between peripheral blood T-cell Profiles and pulmonary function and quality of life in silicosis patients. Methods 90 patients who underwent silicosis hospitalization in our hospital from September 2019-March 2021 were enrolled in the silicosis group. At the same time, 90 healthy people who underwent physical examination at the same time were selected as healthy controls. The differences of peripheral blood T cell expression between the two groups were compared, and the relationship between peripheral blood T cell expression and lung function status and quality of life in silicosis group was analyzed. Results Compared with control subjects, patients with silicosis had lower FEV1, FEV1/FVC, DLco, CD4+T cells and CD4+/CD8+, and higher RV and CD8+T cells. There were significant differences in FEV1, FEV1/FVC, RV and SGRQ symptom score, activity score and total score among stageⅠ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ silicosis patients. The percentage of CD8+ T cells was negatively correlated with DLco, and positively correlated with symptom score and activity score. The percentage of CD4+ T cells was negatively correlated with FEV1 and FEV1/FVC. Conclusion The percentage of CD8+ T cells in peripheral blood of silicosis patients is positively correlated with the abnormal degree of gas exchange, while the percentage of CD4+ T cells is negatively correlated with the abnormal degree of gas exchange.
